A Scent from Spirit

When spirit communicate with us, they do so in a number of ways.

The main ones are

Clairvoyance ( seeing images)

Clairaudience (hearing voices)

Clairsentience (recognising feelings)

Claircognizance (knowing)

Most people understand clairvoyance – you see images in your head.

There is clairaudience, - when you can hear voices externally to you from spirit. This is like a normal conversation, in that you can hear the voice, but the messages are generally short and to the point. It might be a warning message such as “stop” or “get out” or “don’t do that” or it could be something relating to what is happening with you.

There is clairsentience – in which you just know something or feel something. That is the gut instinct people talk about.

Then claircognisance - when you just seem to automatically know something without any actual “evidence” to back it up.

However, there is another sense – clairscentency. That is the art of scent – smelling a scent that is not actually there.

I never really had that very much until recently. It has become quite prominent and is interesting to experience.

I can suddenly smell pipe tobacco (different from cigarette smoke) when my grandfather or great grandfather is around. Have had scents of jasmine, roses, and recently candyfloss. My great uncle was a candyfloss man at the fairs.

It is actually really amazing to experience.

If you are wanting to develop this, I have a tip for you to try.

This idea came from Sirian who with his beautiful wife Adriel, own a gorgeous spiritual shop in Geraldine. Call in if you are going through. It’s on the corner on the main street.

He told me that when you are using tarot or any angel cards or similar, smell them just before splitting the deck or selecting a card. He would ask me “What do you smell?” I have often been able to get a scent – such as vanilla, wood or something similar. It will relate to the reading or to someone around you. It is quite a lovely way of starting your clairscentency.

If you don’t get anything, just keep trying. Norm will occasionally get a scent, I tend to get them more often, but I generally have a better sense of smell then he does.

Also ask aloud – tell spirit you would like to develop your sense of smell and would like scents from spirit and then be vigilant. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve smelt something and been hunting to find where it is coming from before realising there is nothing physical that could have caused it.

How can you smell roses on a beach?

Clairscentency is another gift from spirit, that I think sometimes can be underrated.

Try and see if you get a scent, it’s a lovely message and gift that is given by spirit to us.
